Amazing Things for You

Value Creation

Value created, preserved, or eroded for the organisation over time manifests itself in increases, decreases or

transformations of the capitals caused by the organisation’s business activities and outputs. That value has two

interrelated aspects. Value created preserved or eroded for:

 A) The organisation itself, which enables financial returns to the providers of financial capital

B) Others (i.e., stakeholders and society at large).

Corporate Reporting

The corporate reporting landscape is evolving in tandem with the changing

business trends, which demand information beyond financials. The

Integrated Reporting <IR> Framework was first launched in 2013. Pertinent

to the development of<IR> Framework is the International Integrated

Reporting Council (IIRC) which then merged with the Sustainability

Accounting Standard Board (SASB) to form the Value Reporting Foundation

(VRF). In Malaysia itself, <IR> is gaining traction since 2015 until today and

significant trajectory occurred in 2017 when the Malaysian Code of

Corporate Governance (MCCG) issued by the Securities Commission (SC)

recognised <IR> as the step up approach in corporate reporting of large listed

entities on Bursa Malaysia. This module will also explain about the recent

development of <IR> Framework globally and locally.
